This Guy (he's got magic in his mind)

I remember once seeing on tumblr or something the statement "I wish I could record my dreams and watch them later", and since then I have actually really wished that I could do that! I guess somebody must have been listening to my wishes because Tim Walker made two short films (in conjunction with certain fashion editorials) that basically feel like recorded dreams--or even more beautiful. The one above is my favourite, it goes along with the Like A Doll editorial from Vogue Italia and stars Lindsey Wixson. I love it because it is full of pastel colours and is wonderfully creepy as it blurs the lines between little girls and witches.

Devil in the Details

This post turned out a lot different then I had originally planned...I thought it was going to be pictures of pastel colored photos with added on borders (like the two above) and detailed views of clothing, style, and spaces (hence the title). It has actually become like a witches brew of darkening pastel shades.

Eleanor Hardwick (who I really need to dedicate an entire post to), Elliott Smith, Meadham Kirchhoff hanger (if anyone has their address can you please give it to me so I can send them a letter asking them to stop being so awesome. Oh, wait! I have their phone number, it's 1-800-AMAZING), Liz Ham, Anja Konstantinova in Oyster Magazine, Olympia Le Tan in her studio, Sofia Sanchez & Mauro Mongiello (I am obsessed with this editorial right now), Lauren Poor, a letter Edward Gorey sent, Jake Cooper, Olivia Kim's vanity table, barrettes on the Jeremy Scott runway, Prada Winter 2007 lookbook, Wendy Beaven, Charlotte Free and her rings

Designer Spotlight: Meadham Kirchhoff (Mania)

Even though this is a "fashion-y" blog I rarely talk about the clothing I like and the people that make them, which seems silly because what is fashion without designers? That being said, I am "spotlighting" Meadham Kirchhoff, the London-based designer duo that makes--in my opinion--the most beautiful--and uniquely beautiful--clothing.

Let's start with their things in magazines:

Julija Steponaviciute by Nick Dorey   Spring Summer 2011 collection by Amira Fritz

V Magazine's own spotlight on new designers , this article was really great and featured some of my favourite designers (many of which will be posted) and that "piece" belongs to my shrine (sorry for all the unnecessary quoting, I feel like a Larry Johnson artwork. Also, I, in my o so kind nature, circled Meadham Kirchhoff for the viewer

Lulu Kennedy in Vogue UK Alek Wek in I-D Magazine (this is also part of my Meadham Kirchhoff shrine)

Guinevere Van Seemus ( i don't know what it's from) Olga Sherer by Emma Tempest

Now shall we look inside their studio?

dolls and caterpillar prints...a lot of Alice and Wonderland vibes!

note their fabulous clothing and the walls with the Nicoletta Ceccoli cat girl

Now, I dare indulge us in the clothes:

That took forever! But I am glad I did it because now if there is a contest to find for who most loves Meadham Kirchhoff, I have proof that I deserve to win!
