Haring's Heels

These Nicholas Kirkwood shoes with Keith Haring designs really caught my eye! Haring's doodle-like art is applicable to any surface or object and as always, I really love the combination of art and fashion!

the Radiant Child

I went last night to see "The Radiant Child", a documentary about the fabulous artist Jean-Michel Basquiat. Although the young artist's fall from grace and tragic death made it a very sad movie, every aspect of the film was beautiful; from the direction to the art, to Basquiat himself! To quote "Clueless", "I give it a very enthusiastic two thumbs up"

I think the collage above is somewhat successful in capturing the amazingness of Florence Welch's fashion sense, but NOTHING could ever describe how great her voice is and how much I love the music of Florence + the Machine !

Sweet Smells

I think I have made it pretty clear that I am a big fan of dessert; it's taste, of course, but also, and maybe even more so, the way it looks (given the Wayne Theibud cakes) and maybe best of all the way it smells...which is why I love these shampoos from Philosophy with sweet flavours like cinnamon buns, vanilla birthday cake, strawberry saltwater taffy, and pink frosted layer cake!

A Perfect Summer Discovery

Ever since reading To Kill a Mockingbird, I have been obsessed with the innocence and joy of summer...I wanted to make a accumulation of the aspects of my perfect summer (MGMT's Congratulations because I saw them at the Greek Theatre, Holygrace perfume because i have been wearing it this summer, a John Baldessari piece from the his show at LACMA, and summery clothes (current/elliott shorts, Boy. by band of outsiders top) I wish I had)

This was made through my new favourite "tool", Polyvore, which is really quite perfect for me because I love making collages, but am not a fan of glue :P

I was getting some pretty nasty blisters from my comme des garcons converse and I thought I had two options: live with the pain or give up the wonderful shoes...BUT I, oh so luckily, stumbled upon these happy socks which a) solve my problems b) MAKE ME HAPPY! and c) because I got these prism ones, I look like a Barry McGee Painting:
