My Only Worry Would be Attracting Bees With the Sugary Scent

I saw this ad for the Fresh Brown Sugar Body Polish and my eyes literally glazed over; how wonderful does it look?! I imagine it smells amazing (like brown sugar) and it looks wonderful (like crystals) and I am always a fan of semi-exotic skin products.

Fashion and Warhol, what could be better?!

Flipping through yesterday's New York Times "Thursday Styles" I chanced upon an article about these amazing Lisa Perry dresses featuring photographs of art legend Andy Warhol. Wow they are fabulous! The collection will be available at the end of June and less expensive shirts will go on sale later in the summer.

Speaking of Lisa Perry I am also loving some of her other dresses:

They are super classy with a vintage late 50s early 60s look and I imagine they would look great as a summer dress

She is NOT a Fashion Model...She's a Goddess!!!

With her long neck, boyish style, and of course signature bowl haircut, Japanese model Tao Okamoto is everything I aspire to be!

"Your Slippers Look Like They are Made of Candy"

I think I have made it pretty clear that I love flats (I have posted about them four times :) but I also bedroom slippers, which makes the French slipper company I Hate my Slippers pretty much my dream. These artist designed slippers will never fail to catch an eye (I know because I proudly own the blue face ones) and are extremely comfortable.

My Favourite things combined (Art + Fashion)

Miss Van, an amazing French artist, has teamed up with Anaoana, a fabulous Spanish fashion designer...as you can imagine, the result was pretty spectacular; sweatshirts, scarves, shirts, tights, and everything else featuring Miss Van's signature drawings.

Wipe Away Your Business in Style!

Michel Gondry is not only a fabulous director (he is responsible for Science of Sleep, one of my all-time favourites) but he is also a gifted artist! Well, either wonderfully, or maybe just oddly, he has decided to put his sketches onto rolls of toilet paper!

What a Sassy bag!

London street artist Ben Eine, famous for his "alphabet shutters" has brought his signature letters form the street to Anya Hindmarch bags.

If I were Making a List of Beautiful Things, This Might be First

These wonderful Repetto shoes combine everything wonderful; France, old-fashion, whimsy, classic (yet unique) and overall beauty!

But be forewarned they are a bit pricey

"Familiar Strangers"

The very nice owner of Lebasse Projects gallery in Culver City let me take a "sneak peak" of the Yoskay Yamamoto show that opened Saturday night...and wow! It was spectacular, can't recommend seeing it more! (it runs through July 10)

My Favourite Things Made by My Favourite thing!

If there are only four things I love (which there are obviously not or I would not have this blog) then they would be: perfume, sweaters, sunglasses, and sneakers...and of course Commee Des Garçons makes a very beautiful version of them all! The fabulous perfume, shoes, flowered cardigan, and sunglasses (a collaboration with Cutler and Gross) are available at Collette, the best Parisian store EVER! And both the red and gray cardigans are available at Saks.

"Cosmic Blossom"

My two favourite things combined: art & fashion...yes, the newest Louis Vuitton x Takashi Murakami collection is here!!! I'm so loving this beach towel and semi-affordable bag.

Art in Objects Makes the Little Things a Little Brighter

If there is one thing I love it is turning everyday objects into art...which makes these artist-designed beach towels perfect for me! My particular favourite is this Yoshimoto Nara towel, but the Ed Ruscha, Raymond Pettibon, and Kehinde Wiley editions are not to shabby!

Chau Chau Giggle and Pop!

Today I attended one of the strangest, funnest events ever...Gary Baseman (pictured with moi above) choreographed and designed a dance/parade of the Chau (seen here) and the Tar Pit Girls (seen here) And they gave out (yes, they were actually free) the most wonderful prints and sashes!

Kaddish

O how much do I love Allen Ginsberg? I am a pretty big fan of Howl, but I REALLY loved Kaddish...the tragic insanity, the grappling with Judaism, his own intellectual pursuits; oh how beautiful it was.

The Best CD Ever?!

I really do wonder if this is the best CD ever...not only does it to go helping cure aids, but it does so though amazing music by some favourites like:
-Connor Oberst
-Sufjan Stevens
-Dirty Projectors
-Cat Power
-Iron & Wine (Major <3)
-Beirut
-The New Pornographers
-The Decemberists
-Sharon Jones & the Dap Kings
-The National (who produced the album)
-And the most beautiful Andrew Bird Song

Dreamy Bath Toxins (or a safer way of having alcohol in the tub)

Relaxation in a bottle...this amazing miso pretty "bath sake" turns the normal tub into a mermaid sea; it's scented with vanilla, orchid petals and soothing persimmon and turns the water cloudy gray/blue

Beautiful Shorts

When I first, very unaware, wandered into Topshop I was not so impressed with their stuff...but now I have "caught the bug" All the lace and flowers...I'm in love! I also love that even for people like me who are not worthy of wearing their beautiful dresses, can find something; they have the most amazing shorts...very dressy and wonderful, my favourite being the ones above, which of course are sold out in my size!

Loving him...her not as much

Well it's no secret that I love Ryan McGinely, and I was thrilled to see his amazing pictures in the New York Times Magazine, but I'm not sure how much I love the subject...MIA. Regardless, I love these photographs!!!

Designer Lunches: We love you, but we wonder if you're worth it

I love my Gary Baseman lunchbox, but if you are looking for something a little more stylish there is always this Rodarte x Opening Ceremony lunchbox. It's stylish and adorable, combing fashion and Roald Dahl! That Being said a hand-written note inside the lunchbox, indicates that it should not be used to store food...kind of defeating the purpose :/ Also, I'm surprised that it has already sold out...seeing as it is a lunchbox that can't store food being sold for $200...I suppose now that Rodarte's collaboration with target is over they are back to selling things no normal person could own.

Marc Jacobs also has a muse, but his is a mouse!

I know I'm a little bit late on this...but how wonderful are these MARC by Marc Jacobs mouse flats??? But maybe it's for the best I cannot afford these "critters"...I'd probably spend all my time stroking my own feet!

lace and rainbow dress muses

Oh these Alice + Olivia dresses are beautiful!!! I usually don't blog about things I own, but I this dress (above) is so special I just couldn't resist!

I'm also really loving this one that I did not get:

I also love the the strappy open back on both of them

Because Bikinis are Just Fashionable Underwear...

As indicated by the title of this post, I am not the biggest fan of bikinis...but all my problems have been solved by this wonderful (semi-Victorian) floral bathing suit from American Apparel.

I really love this print...it seems like vintagey floral prints are everywhere this year...from sundresses to "hotpants" ...so why not bathing suits?

Like Your Childhood shoes...minus the price that is

I didn't no that dreams could come true in the form of shoes...but oh they can! I am literally in love with these Miu Miu Mary Janes; they perfectly combine trendy, playful, vintage, and overall perfection...sadly, I am going to need a VERY generous donation to afford them

OPI x Alice and Wonderland

It seems like Tim Burton has turned the world Alice crazy...in addition to many other products and books , OPI has released a very cool line of Alice Nail Polish...my favourite being "mad as a hatter" (shown above)

Banksy in LA!

After years of praying and wondering how I could bring Banksy to LA, he has finally arrived and put up TWO pieces on the streets!!!

There is another one downtown, but I read it has already been stolen :(

A Prayer for Owen Meany

After reading two of his book, John Irving became one of my favourite writers and he hasn't let me down with "A Prayer for Owen Meany," the saddest, yet most genuinely heart-warming book I have ever read!

Broken Bells

I am currently obsessed with the band Broken Bells made up of my favourite producer Danger Mouse and the Shin's fabulous singer James Mercer!!! The song "October" is so amazing!

Things I love NYC edition: Os Gemeos Mural

In a tribute to the late photographer Dash Snow , my favourite street art twins Os Gemeos put up this AMAZING mural in NYC!

Things I love NYC edition: Space Invader's made out of Rubix Cubes

One of my favourite street artists, Space Invader, took a break from his usual tiles and made in amazing Pac-Man ghost out of RUBIX CUBES!

Things I love NYC edition: No Hope mural

I was SO excited to finally see a Know Hope mural in NYC! And because he lives in Israel, even my orthodox Jewish aunt was into it :)

Things I love NYC edition: "Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere"

I was so lucky to be in New York to see Ryan McGinley's outstanding show at Team Gallery in ever trendy SoHo!

Vivienne Westwood Plastic Flats

After catching one glimpse of these Vivienne Westwood at the amazing Black Market...I know I could would be not only one of my favourite pair of shoes that I own, but also in ever!!!

BROKEN LABEL by NAGI NODA & MARK RYDEN

In a cruel twist of fate I saw these amazing Mark Ryden x Nagi Noda broken label dresses in my favorite Japanese fashion magazine a few years ago. Unfortunately I was pretty young and was terrified by the possessed, dead girls...well, of course now when I am absolutely OBSESSED with these dresses they are completely unavailable! But I still am crossing my fingers...

Tarina Tarintino Barbie doll

Long ago I forced myself to give up my doll obsession, but it has resurfaced with one glimpse of the Tarina Tarantino Barbie doll! The doll is perfect with Tarina Tarantino jewelry, Barbie belt, and Tarina's signature bubblegum pink hair!

xoxo

Disney Couture x Tom Binns

I am not usually one to fall victim to the the charm of expensive jewelery...but I have found myself completely in love with the pieces that Tom Binns has designed for Disney Couture based on my favorite thing of life, Alice and Wonderland.

My particular favorite is the "smashing time" necklace shown above and the "tea party" earrings available at Bloomgindale's

xoxo
