Soko

I was originally just going to do a song of the day, but I realized there were so many things I love by and about Soko, so I am doing a whole post dedicated to her/her music!

The first song I heard by her was I Will Never Love You More which caught my attention because it's so quirky-cool and references some of my favorite girly things. (photograph by Colin Dodgson)

The second song by her I heard was First Love Never Die (check out the video!) which is very different from I'll Never Love You More and maybe even more beautiful--though a rather sad kind of beauty. (photograph by Bruce Weber)

Soko also has the greatest style:

Rocking head warps, cool t-shirts, and layered jewelry

I am in love with both of these outfits...the necklaces! the circular sunglasses! the cat t-shirt!!!!

"I Bet She Bangs Like a Fairy on Acid"

A little while ago I started watching Skins (the UK version) and I became OBSESSED. I mean, REALLY OBSESSED; I went to sleep thinking about it and woke up and thinking about it, and at one point I dreamed about it. While each eposide gets me more addicted, the one that I have and (think) always will, is the one about Cassie.

Admittedly, Cass is a little crazy, but she is also seriously unique. All her quirkiness and adorableness are shown through her style which is seriously amazing (as witnessed above). Who else could pull off Kurt Cobain sunglasses, wearing a watch around their ankle, and a dog print skirt?

Hello, I Love You

A while ago I wrote about my obsession with Tao Okamoto...WELL, since then I have become quite obsessed with the street style of off-duty models. And from this there is a new (subcategory) of obsession; Iekeliene Stange!

This Dutch model, is not only extremely gorgeous, but she also has the most wonderful style; vintage floral prints and eclectic buttons pinned to blazers. And if that weren't enough, she also had a photography exhibition last year with the wonderful title of "I Like Ponies".

the Radiant Child

I went last night to see "The Radiant Child", a documentary about the fabulous artist Jean-Michel Basquiat. Although the young artist's fall from grace and tragic death made it a very sad movie, every aspect of the film was beautiful; from the direction to the art, to Basquiat himself! To quote "Clueless", "I give it a very enthusiastic two thumbs up"

The Pincale of Greatness

I think the collage above is somewhat successful in capturing the amazingness of Florence Welch's fashion sense, but NOTHING could ever describe how great her voice is and how much I love the music of Florence + the Machine !

She is NOT a Fashion Model...She's a Goddess!!!

With her long neck, boyish style, and of course signature bowl haircut, Japanese model Tao Okamoto is everything I aspire to be!
